DATADRIVEN

Digitalisation has had profound implications for the way powerful we communicate with one another, creating new channels for engagement and new techniques for targeting and testing messages. These changes are particularly significant in the context of elections, where new communication tools are used by campaigners seeking to win power.

The DATADRIVEN project investigates the behaviour of political parties in five countries, using a combination of research methods to investigate electoral practice in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and United Kingdom. Specifically, the project explores the techniques being used, and asks what are the possible consequences of these practices for democracy.
