Many citizens don’t pay much attention to their own pension savings until they approach retirement. The DEEPEN project shows why we should be more interested in this topic throughout our lives by exploring how governments, regulators, and labour market actors manage funded pension schemes, how decisions about investments are made, and how participants' attitudes matter in these processes.
The research team uses a range of innovative methodological tools to answer these questions, such as survey data and comparative case studies. The project focuses on Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Ireland, and Spain. The DEEPEN project aims to reach national and European policymakers and other significant participants through their activities.
